New Year Starts with Discrimination between Boys and Girls

Haryana Govt may have introduced a New Year gift for girl students, but it kept behind a note of DISCRIMINATION between GIRLS and BOYS. Haryana Govt. has introduced FREE BUS RIDE for Girl students. Why it's just for Girl students? Isn't it a discrimination between Boys and Girls?
It is true that there are security issues for girls in the society and Girls are given much priority in the society. But isn't it not true that they too are misusing their advantages? They are also misusing their powers against boys and others in the society, abusing many innocent boys making the society vulnerable for them. Free Bus Ride cannot overcome this issue.. Govt. is leaving the rapists and criminals free, and this is the issue. Make the law more harsh and tight, and then there will be a day when there would be no such cases. Well lets leave this issue..
Boys and Girls are considered same in the work field but why are special financial support given to all Girls.. Less exam fees for any exams, admission, allowance to family with only one Girl child and much more considerations, including what it has been introduced today. Isn't it a type of discrimination against boys? Obviously it is. Not only in Haryana, West Bengal is far forward in this type of discrimination as like the WB Govt has introduced Kanyashree Yojna, giving benefits and scholarships to girls with family income of atmost Rs 1.2 lakhs (monthly income Rs 10000) to empower women with education and eradicate child marriage and there is a long list. Ok, it wouldn't have been a problem if the Govt has introduced a similar scheme for boys under 16 with monthly family income of atmost Rs 7000 (Yearly Rs 84000) because in this era of inflation, monthly income of Rs 7000 means just three times of meal, and some clothing and obviously one would have to save a bit for the future and education? Its certainly not possible.
Many might be providing examples of Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Ishwar Chandra Vidya Sagar who faought for women empowerment. But then at that period, they had some different issues like the harsh Sati pratha where  young girls were burnt alive with dead husbands and child marriage, which are not at all an issue in this 21st century except the child marriage..
Haryana has introduced Free Bus Ride for ALL GIRL student, she may be even the daughter of a rich Dad. And a poor Boy student who may be working for some money after his school or college till late night, and if he has not got a penny in his pocket, he will not be allowed to board the bus to get back his to his home. Is this fair? I don't think so. And with this inception of FREE BUS RIDE TO ALL GIRL STUDENTS, many other states would be following and adopting this and the first state may be WEST BENGAL... But this is really a discrimination. I'm not offending any Girl for this, I'm offending the Govt. for passing out some awful one sided benefits. There should be a free Bus Ride scheme, but NOT only for girls. The FREE BUS RIDE SCHEME SHOULD BE SANCTIONED FOR ALL STUDENTS on presenting their School or College ID cards. Haryana government should rectify its sanctioned scheme...

Shocked!! : Gutthi out of Comedy Nights with Kapil...

I ignored the news when it was the top headline in Zee news and ABP news today in the afternoon. But when I say the same in the Times of India website, I had to believe it as I will be missing Gutthi every Sunday at 10 PM.
TV is not so close to me, but the Bigg Boss saath 7 and Comedy Nights with Kapil are the two which I never miss, rather I try not to miss! And Kapil Sharma's show has been much hyped these days as obviously it is not alike to any comedy show using some cheap jokes, rather they amuse people with jokes of a person's daily routine or life and that is why it reaching new heights surpassing the ongoing Comedy Circus (Sony), where Kapil Sharma is still a participant and also has touched the largest viewers base surpassing Big B's mega quiz show, Kaun Banega Crore Pati (Sony).
Kapil Sharma's team in Comedy Nights (Colors) comprised of characters Bittu, Phalak, Gutthi, Bua, Dadima, and Bittu's wife.
While Sunil Grover played the role of Gutthi, and has become immensely popular along with Dadi, Phalak and Kapil himself.
Some sources say that Sunil demanded for a higher payment and which Colors didn't approve and so he walked away, while others say that there has been a growth of rivalry between Kapil and Sunil popularity. No exact reason is known yet but it is confirmed that Gutthi is not being seen in this week's episode and didn't reach for shooting for some future episodes too. While contacted by reporters, he was not available!!
Hope we get Gutthi back in the Comedy Nights or else, the missing Gutthi will make a miss in the show and viewers are going to miss Gutthi a lot!!!                :'(

Cholo Paltayi

Good films doesnot need to go for calculating budget. Its all obout the story, the act and its resemblence to real life! But sometimes the story is so much happening and they do show the solution by which the society and the system can be changed or can be developed but may be not, there is no one who tries to act as a real hero of the real life, nor do those people, I mean the actors who enacts the heroes in the cinema to make a change!! Well, the actors can influence the public, the most and if they can make a film, they can obviously make an effort to change the system!!
This is what I felt while watching 'Cholo paltayi' starring Prosenjit Chatterjee. Obviously the issue that was pictured is a real problem, the burdens on students. Well I don't want to describe the story and don't want to elaborate the resemblance of the issue with the society. But as they have pictured, there is no one to take an initiative to change the present system. Every one in this hypocritical world is busy protecting  their own stand, and no one is there to think about the society.
Well thats obvious that common people are busy making their life much more easy and so they are focused in doing their jobs and make money! But what about those actors who enact these issues in cinema? Do they fight against these in real life? Well, I'm writing this as because I have never seen anyone working to eradicate these issues on real field. They should have come forward as the general public get much more influenced by the film/TV stars or other celebrities themselves. These stars appearently have no pressure to earn money rather, most of them are millionaires. They claim themselves to be active in programs fighting against some issues, some claim to be related to NGO's but is there any visible effect in society? Why can't they go for some open stage or street shows for focusing on a particular issue? If they take initiative, they will really be successful in influencing people. The real term 'Cholo Paltayi' or 'Lets make a change' will be visible with true effect!!
I'm no one to criticize any actor or nor am I doing the same. But I want actors and other celebrities to come out in between common people to help them eradicate some serious issues.
On the other hand, I take films as a source of learning. Well I can't learn Physics, Chemestry, Maths, Business from cinemas but what we can learn is to become true human beings with good moral values. Like I was really fascinated to see the act of the neighbour cum friend's helping hand towards Shubhomoy babu (Prosenjit). They were all middle class people, working hard to earn, but in Shubhomoy babu's bad times, inspite of their hard economic conditions, they came forward to help Shubhomoy babu in all possible way. They accumulated money to buy a wheel chair for Shubhomoy's son who went in deep coma. One of them even donated ₹500 which he saved for paying his electricity bill and also to be praised for the act of a broad handed Imran (Rajatava Dutta) whois a serious businessman of Kidderpore and didn't ever used to compromise for money but he open heartedly offered Shubhomoy babu to help in all ways to get his son revive from coma. And also did the prostitute Malini (Mouli) who became motherly to Munni (Tathoi) and took care of her.
I just want to ask, is there any friend or neighbour present in our real society who is ready to compromise his everything to help his friend? Hard to believe and hard to find!!!
One of the real thing what was shown in the movie was the selfish younger brother of Shubhomoy babu who is richer and visited his elder brother when he came to know that Shubhomoy babu is going to sell his house to get money for his son's final operation. The younger brother brought a packet of biscuit just for show off but actually he came for getting his part of the paternal property instead of helping his brother financially for his son's operation. So this is one of the truest thing which has been pictured. People has been so much selfish that the blood relation is of no importance in this world!! My father is a real sufferer of the same!
In this film, I was really moved by the issue and more than that, I was moved by the act of neighbours and I ask people to learn these from films, the morals, to be a Good human....

Game Review: Asphalt 8 Airborne

Day: 15; Post: 30
22nd Oct 2013; 02:45PM

Well, it has been two days I've got the much anticipated Asphalt 8: Airborne in my iPad as it is available for free in the Apple App store under the 'App of the week' banner. It will be available for free for just a very days after which you'll be charged ₹55 ($0.99) for the game. So don't miss the oppurtunity.
About the game:
The game play is totally changed as compared to Asphalt 7: Heat with more game play, that are divided in Sessions. The gameplay is easy enough but you need to show your gaming skills. And there are numerous skills you need to show off. Earlier in Asphalt 7, you win a race and you could win your trophy but here, to win a trophy, you need to show off the skills that are asked you to show. Double drill, Air jump, Air knockdowns, drifts and what not.

You will be categorised  as ghosts and you will have to race against some virtual ghosts or your friend's ghosts, making the game play much more challenging.

The Multiplayer game play is same as it was in Asphalt 7, but now it has also been optimised  for slow networks and you can play multiplayer using your 2G connection... Thats a wow thing!!!

This time Asphalt took more care on the background music and the music station is categorized to Bass, electronics and Rock and you'll be surprised with real songs with vocals too adding extra energy!!

The Graphics is again mind blowing, too glossy, well a bit un real.. Cars looked good and there are same cars with the same design as it was in the former. Like the Camaro, it has the same design as the former.. Well there are some more similarities too!!

Altogether, the game play is easy but sometimes showing your skill will be tough to acheive a trophy!!!
Try it out and I guaratee you, you'll be amazed!! Happy Gaming

My views on God

Day: 12; Post: 27;
16th Oct 2013; 11:50PM

When I shared my last post on the Ancestral Stories of Durga Puja in a Facebook group, some one asked me on my views on Durga puja. She was a female, an unknown to me. Well, I was not expecting such question from a female as I see Durga in each and every women. She says that she doesn't believe the fact that a woman can have ten hands with ten different weapons and other objects like Lotus, Veda, Rudraksh and more. Well, here in this post, I'll describe my take on Gods and Goddess and the way I see them in the real world.
Well, as like that woman who commented on my post, I don’t believe in any  god/goddess with ten or four or two hands nor do I believe in any supernatural powers. I’m a science student and I should not! As I do believe that every thing we see around is science and there in nothing supernatural in it.
Before starting my explanation of a ‘multi powered’ god, let me first describe the difference between a God and a demon in respect to our real life.
We have got heart, we have got feelings and the main thing which we have got is the spirit. In the spirit we have got two dogs. One, a good dog, that is loyal and does good for his master and the other a bad dog, which doesn’t do good for his master, he may be too much violent. Obviously you can picturise what may be the characters of a good and a bad dog. So, the good dog is the God, and the bad one is the demon. When we grow up, when we begin to understand the world, we get an option to feed any one of those two dogs  and make it a pet in our spirits and thus the one who chooses a good one becomes a good man and becomes a person like a God and the other who chooses the evil becomes the demons like we have in this world as rapists, terrorists, murderers, cheaters etc etc..
We know that  Devi Durga assassinates Mahisasura, the demon and thus we understand the meaning. A god killing a demon clearly pictures the fact of Victory of “Good over Evils”. And hence we call Devi Durga as “Durgati Nashini” and worship her as the Goddess of power and symbolizes the Victory of Good over evil.

Lets get back to the point of the ten hands of Devi Durga. As I have already said that I see devi Durga in each and every woman, I add up by saying that I see Durga in each and every person who does something right and fight against something which is wrong. Durga thus depicts a good woman or a person. The ten hands with ten different weapons and objects depicts ten different incarnations of a woman rather a good person in our real life. She is calm, she is quite, she is loving, she is caring, she is intelligent, she is strong, she is aggressive, she is undefeatable. The one more speciality of every woman is that she is a mother and thus Devi Durga depicts all features of a woman. We call her mother or Maa, the one who gives us birth and is ready to sacrifice herself for her children. The aggressive incarnation of a woman depicts the destruction of evil, the Mahisasura of the real world like rapists, murderers, terrorists.
On my final take, all Gods and Goddess depicts a real human being, Gods do not reside in temples, nor do they reside in any Mosque or Church, they reside in ourselves. We should not  see the ‘features’ of a God like Krishna who has got a Sudarshan Chakra (a flaming disc, a weapon, possessed by Lord Vishnu), or the 108 names he is called with, but we should try to understand why he posses the Chakra. He posses it to help others in distress and to destroy evils like he helped Dropadi in Mahabharata. We should understand his love for Radha and should learn what a real love is. We should get to know the meaning of the names Krishna is called with. Like ‘Murlidhar’, the name depicts a person who plays flute and thus it depicts Krishna. But at last he is the same Krishna for his mothers Devki, who gave her birth and Yashoda, the mother who cared him all his life!
This is what god teaches us.
May be it is a Bhagwat Gita or a Koran or a Bible, they teaches us the same thing to be good to oneself and to others too. Gods teach us to be in peace, in harmony and not in hatred and wars. Waste no milk to make a Shiva linga bath with milk, waste no candle in church rather put in a house of a poor who cannot afford it to make his kids study, Don’t waste your scented incense sticks in temple or Mosques, put them in a slum near the high drains where people leave with those foul smells of your wastes.
Swami Vivekananda said “Don’t waste your evening praying to God or reading Gita, use it for playing football that will develop your health and make you strong and so that you can help anyone you see in distress”

App review: Documents by Readdle

Day: 11; Post: 26;
15th Oct 2013; 6:30PM

Even though Android devices provide a loads of features compared to Apple iOS devices, the hardcore gadget users stick to their iOS devices. Not just stick to it, Apple devices are loved and are not just used as because developers love the Apple ecosystem and so we find endless numbers of quality apps only for iOS or 'Specially designed for iOS' apps. And yes, the quality obviously matters a lot. And here I'm introducting a quality app named Documents by Readdle which is only available for for iOS devices. I've searched a lot in the web for the same app if it is available for android or not. But no, its not available.
About the features, whats not in it? Document reader? .txt editor? Creator? Compressor  (to .zip)? Yeah!! Its is basically a file manager and so it can hold on each and every type of file. And there are many such apps like that. But whats special in it? You can create a note that will be saved in .txt format.

You can compress your files to .zip files. You can view all types of documents from .pdf to Microsoft .docx, spreadsheets and more.
You can store your music here and play it in its default media player. Also you can store your videos and choose your favourite video players (iOS default, VLC or other).
The most amazing feature is the multiple cloud in one app. From Google docs to Sky drive to Drop box choose your favourite one to store or access files. Only one drawback is that you can't share your documents to others. Otherwise if you use your cloud storage as a cloud drive, you won't need the dedicated apps of Google Drive, Drop Box, Skydrive or others.

One of the other feature is the excellent document reader which can let you read .pdf, .doc, .docx, spreadsheets etc. and it has two modes for reading in Day light and Night reading too.. It may not be as good as Adobe Reader but as scrolling of pages in Adobe Reader is much more swift. But still if you don't need Adobe, you can go with Document and and you'll get the two modes of reading for all formats unlike Adobe Reader.
There is an inbuilt browser too which you can use for downloading from music to files of any format.

The app also features the wifi file sharing. Thus to transfer your files from your pc or other devices, you won't need the USB to connect to iTunes and transfer your files. For this, your iOS device must be in the same network as your other devices (computer, phones etc.).

Drawbacks:
There so many usability of this app that the drawbacks would be very much negligible. The drawbacks include that you cannot share your cloud storage documents to others using this app. You may find it a bit difficult to scroll pages of any document if you have been using Adobe Reader. Sometimes downloads get interrupted and you cannot resume downloads.

Download it for your iOS device from the App Store

Ancestral stories of Durga Puja (eBooks)

Day: 10; Post: 25
14th Oct 2013; 11:30AM

Durga Puja, the biggest festival of Bengalies in both India and Bangladesh, has got a long history. Goddess Durga, an incarnation of Lord Bishnu was evolved to assassinate Mahisasura, a devil. And thus Durga became the idol depicting Good against Bad.
Goddess Durga comes to Earth (her parental home) once in a year for four days and she is worshipped as the destroyer of Evil (Durgati Nashini).
There are loads of Ancestral stories and obviously grand parents love to narrate those tales to grand children. But in this age of modernization, many Grand parents may not know the stories (tales) or the Gen Y kids find them boring in this e-world.
After searching a lot in the web, I found those tales in details as e-books and here I share them with you...

Below is the preview and you can also download the e-books for free. Click on the image.

Here comes the second phase of Pandal hopping on 11th October, the day  of Maha Saptami, and it was a whole night planning and obviously my injured foot could not stop me either. Since the last two years, I had a regular visit to North Kolkata but this time I had dedicated my second day to South Kolkata followed by the SHABDABAAJI game show at Golf Green with Roy da (RJ Roy, Radio One, 94.3 FM). So here follows the Random snaps of South Kolkata Pandals.... Internet Giant Google has launched an open source software "Person Finder" to help rescue or find victims affected by Phailin cyclone in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. The company has set up a Crisis Response team to assist the governments in rescue & rehabilitation of cyclone victims. Google has raised its concern on rescuing people as it did during Uttrakhand flood this year. The open source software designed by google will help people to find any missing person or anyone can submit the details of any person who is in distress or has been found.
Below is the snapshot of the application:

Google is also working with Airtel to send sms blasts to all of its users.

Google also launched a crisis map to locate cyclone hit areas, power outages, shelters, medical and supply facilities and others. The web pages also contains emergency Phone numbers..

The maps have been set up by netizens who call themselves 'digital humanitarian volunteers' or so called CrisisMappers. The online volunteers along with on-the-ground relief mates from different places, including volunteers of StandBy Task Force, OpenCrisis, Info4Disasters, and several university students are working on the map.
