Haryana Govt may have introduced a New Year gift for girl students, but it kept behind a note of DISCRIMINATION between GIRLS and BOYS. Haryana Govt. has introduced FREE BUS RIDE for Girl students. Why it's just for Girl students? Isn't it a discrimination between Boys and Girls?
It is true that there are security issues for girls in the society and Girls are given much priority in the society. But isn't it not true that they too are misusing their advantages? They are also misusing their powers against boys and others in the society, abusing many innocent boys making the society vulnerable for them. Free Bus Ride cannot overcome this issue.. Govt. is leaving the rapists and criminals free, and this is the issue. Make the law more harsh and tight, and then there will be a day when there would be no such cases. Well lets leave this issue..
Boys and Girls are considered same in the work field but why are special financial support given to all Girls.. Less exam fees for any exams, admission, allowance to family with only one Girl child and much more considerations, including what it has been introduced today. Isn't it a type of discrimination against boys? Obviously it is. Not only in Haryana, West Bengal is far forward in this type of discrimination as like the WB Govt has introduced Kanyashree Yojna, giving benefits and scholarships to girls with family income of atmost Rs 1.2 lakhs (monthly income Rs 10000) to empower women with education and eradicate child marriage and there is a long list. Ok, it wouldn't have been a problem if the Govt has introduced a similar scheme for boys under 16 with monthly family income of atmost Rs 7000 (Yearly Rs 84000) because in this era of inflation, monthly income of Rs 7000 means just three times of meal, and some clothing and obviously one would have to save a bit for the future and education? Its certainly not possible.
Many might be providing examples of Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Ishwar Chandra Vidya Sagar who faought for women empowerment. But then at that period, they had some different issues like the harsh Sati pratha where young girls were burnt alive with dead husbands and child marriage, which are not at all an issue in this 21st century except the child marriage..
Haryana has introduced Free Bus Ride for ALL GIRL student, she may be even the daughter of a rich Dad. And a poor Boy student who may be working for some money after his school or college till late night, and if he has not got a penny in his pocket, he will not be allowed to board the bus to get back his to his home. Is this fair? I don't think so. And with this inception of FREE BUS RIDE TO ALL GIRL STUDENTS, many other states would be following and adopting this and the first state may be WEST BENGAL... But this is really a discrimination. I'm not offending any Girl for this, I'm offending the Govt. for passing out some awful one sided benefits. There should be a free Bus Ride scheme, but NOT only for girls. The FREE BUS RIDE SCHEME SHOULD BE SANCTIONED FOR ALL STUDENTS on presenting their School or College ID cards. Haryana government should rectify its sanctioned scheme...
