This is what I felt while watching 'Cholo paltayi' starring Prosenjit Chatterjee. Obviously the issue that was pictured is a real problem, the burdens on students. Well I don't want to describe the story and don't want to elaborate the resemblance of the issue with the society. But as they have pictured, there is no one to take an initiative to change the present system. Every one in this hypocritical world is busy protecting their own stand, and no one is there to think about the society.
Well thats obvious that common people are busy making their life much more easy and so they are focused in doing their jobs and make money! But what about those actors who enact these issues in cinema? Do they fight against these in real life? Well, I'm writing this as because I have never seen anyone working to eradicate these issues on real field. They should have come forward as the general public get much more influenced by the film/TV stars or other celebrities themselves. These stars appearently have no pressure to earn money rather, most of them are millionaires. They claim themselves to be active in programs fighting against some issues, some claim to be related to NGO's but is there any visible effect in society? Why can't they go for some open stage or street shows for focusing on a particular issue? If they take initiative, they will really be successful in influencing people. The real term 'Cholo Paltayi' or 'Lets make a change' will be visible with true effect!!
I'm no one to criticize any actor or nor am I doing the same. But I want actors and other celebrities to come out in between common people to help them eradicate some serious issues.
On the other hand, I take films as a source of learning. Well I can't learn Physics, Chemestry, Maths, Business from cinemas but what we can learn is to become true human beings with good moral values. Like I was really fascinated to see the act of the neighbour cum friend's helping hand towards Shubhomoy babu (Prosenjit). They were all middle class people, working hard to earn, but in Shubhomoy babu's bad times, inspite of their hard economic conditions, they came forward to help Shubhomoy babu in all possible way. They accumulated money to buy a wheel chair for Shubhomoy's son who went in deep coma. One of them even donated ₹500 which he saved for paying his electricity bill and also to be praised for the act of a broad handed Imran (Rajatava Dutta) whois a serious businessman of Kidderpore and didn't ever used to compromise for money but he open heartedly offered Shubhomoy babu to help in all ways to get his son revive from coma. And also did the prostitute Malini (Mouli) who became motherly to Munni (Tathoi) and took care of her.
I just want to ask, is there any friend or neighbour present in our real society who is ready to compromise his everything to help his friend? Hard to believe and hard to find!!!
One of the real thing what was shown in the movie was the selfish younger brother of Shubhomoy babu who is richer and visited his elder brother when he came to know that Shubhomoy babu is going to sell his house to get money for his son's final operation. The younger brother brought a packet of biscuit just for show off but actually he came for getting his part of the paternal property instead of helping his brother financially for his son's operation. So this is one of the truest thing which has been pictured. People has been so much selfish that the blood relation is of no importance in this world!! My father is a real sufferer of the same!
In this film, I was really moved by the issue and more than that, I was moved by the act of neighbours and I ask people to learn these from films, the morals, to be a Good human....
