Americans James E Rothman and Randy W Schekman and German born researcher Thomas C Sudhof were awarded the Nobel Medicine Prize 2013 on Monday for their discoveries on how proteins and other materials are transported to the cells also known as the Vesicle Traffic, the transport system of the cell which helped the scientists to know how the cargo of important proteins and other important materials are transported to the right place at the right time inside the cells.
"Disturbances in this system have deleterious effects and contribute to conditions such as neurological diseases, diabetes and immunological disorders," the Nobel committee said...
The other Nobel categories will be announced by this week or the next.
